What is a Aviation Medical Exam (AME)?

An aviation medical exam is a health assessment required for pilots, air traffic controllers, and certain aviation professionals to ensure they are physically and mentally fit to perform their duties safely. Dr. Nathan March is an FAA-authorized senior Aviation Medical Examiner (AME).
